Applying to Eliot

Upon receipt of your child’s application, a classroom visit will be scheduled. Children generally visit the class of the grade they are applying to and are often invited back for a second visit per our teacher’s request. During this visit, they will participate in classroom activities and also work individually with the teacher in language arts and mathematics. 

Along with the application, you should submit the “Release of Records” to our Admissions Director. This form will allow us to contact your child's current school and/or teacher(s) so they may fill out our AISNE evaluation form and provide us with other pertinent information in order to make a decision regarding your child’s application. 

We also encourage you to visit us during one of our Open Houses to determine if The Eliot Montessori School is a match for you and your family. The 2007-2008 Open House’s have been scheduled for the following dates:

ADMISSIONS PROCESS/INFORMATION: 

Kindergarten Applicants:

• We recommend applications be submitted by January 2nd.
• Kindergarten visits will take place during December and January.
• Acceptance letters will be mailed out on February 1st
• Enrollment contracts are due by February 28th
• Visits last approximately 30-45 minutes and take place with our two Kindergarten teachers and other applicants in a small group setting. 

Lower Elementary (1—3rd grade):

• We recommend applications be submitted by February 1st.
• Lower El visits will take place during November, December, January and February.
• Acceptance letters will be mailed out on March 10th.
• Enrollment contracts are due by April 1st.
• First year applicants join us from 9—11am in one of our Lower Elementary classrooms.  
• Second and Third year applicants join us from 9—1pm in one of our Lower Elementary classrooms.  

Upper Elementary (4th and 5th grade):

• We recommend applications be submitted by February 1st.
• Upper El visits will take place during November, December, January and February.
• Acceptance letters will be mailed out on March 10th.
• Enrollment contracts are due by April 1st.
• Fourth and Fifth year applicants join us at Eliot from 9—2:30.
  

Middle School (6—8th grade):

• We recommend applications be submitted by February 1st.
• Middle School visits will take place during November, December, January and February.
• Acceptance letters will be mailed out on March 10th.
• Enrollment contracts are due by April 1st.
• Sixth and Seventh grade applicants join us at Eliot from 9—2:30.
 

If there are any openings after April 1, enrollment will be on a rolling basis.
