Letter from Bill

May 31, 2007

Dear Parents,

I want to thank the Chair of the Development Committee; the Auction Committee members and Gail Cirillo for all their hard work in organizing the Treasures & Travel Online Auction. Gross revenues totaled more than $21,000 and 78 people bid on Auction items. I also want to thank all of you who took the time to bid and show your support for the school. Your commitment and generosity makes our school makes our school stronger.

As part of this year’s Auction, we offered the opportunity to be Head of School for a Day. Anna, a second year student, one of three winners this year, was the Head for the Day at Eliot Montessori on Thursday, May 31, 2007. She greeted all of the students who came to school, assisted me in answering emails and paying bills, visited classrooms, supervised recess for the Upper Elementary students, took part in a birthday walk, read the article about Eliot in the Metro West edition of the Boston Globe, suggested some changes in the daily schedule, and wrote this letter for the Newsletter. Anna kindly made delicious chocolate chip cookies for the faculty and staff. Each person was touched, asked if Anna was going to be the Head of School again soon, and thought she did a great job as Head of School.

The next two weeks are full of events, Field Day, Eighth Grade Projects, All School Assembly and Graduation. I hope to see you at some of these events.

Sincerely yours,

Bill O’Hearn
